Meet Jamie — Founder & Lead Gardener

JY Gardening Services Ltd was launched by Jamie in August 2022, after he spotted a clear gap in the Northumberland market for a reliable, properly insured local gardener who actually shows up — and finishes the job. With more than 14 years of personal hands-on experience, Jamie and his team handle every aspect of garden care across a 30-mile radius of Alnwick.

What areas do you cover? +

We're based in Alnwick and cover a 30-mile radius across Northumberland — both domestic gardens and commercial grounds. If you're unsure whether you're in range, give us a call and we'll let you know.

Are you fully insured? +

Yes — we carry comprehensive public liability insurance and can send a copy of the certificate over before any work starts. We're also a licenced waste carrier (CBDU563159), so any green waste we generate is disposed of legally and properly.

Do you take on commercial work? +

Absolutely. We look after grounds for holiday lets, small businesses, communal areas and rental properties as well as private homes. Regular contracts and one-off jobs both welcome.

How quickly can you visit? +

For quotes we usually visit within a week. For booked-in work, lead times depend on the season — spring and early summer are busiest. Get in touch and we'll be upfront about availability.

Do you handle hard landscaping as well as maintenance? +

Yes — soft and hard landscaping are both part of what we do. Patios, paths, fencing, raised beds, ponds, stump grinding, the lot. The featured pond installation above is a good example of a combined hard and soft project.

What happens to the green waste? +

We take it away with us and dispose of it through proper licenced channels — composting facilities or registered green waste sites. We hold Waste Carriers Licence CBDU563159, so you're covered on the legal side as the householder or business owner.
